Harper cleans up at championship

TALENTED students from Harper Adams University College have cleared up at a national shooting championship.

Thirty students from the prestigious Shropshire university college, divided into five teams of six, picked up awards at the Annual Agricultural Colleges Clay Shooting Championships on May 13.
The event, at Warwick’s Morten Morrell college, saw the teams battle it out against representatives from Warwickshire, Moulton, Easton, Writtle, Shuttleworth and Bicton.
During the one-day event, students from the Harper Adams collected, amongst others, the Maionchi Perpetual Trophy and the BASC Perpetual Trophy.
The non-championship teams also collected the premier prize, along with a runner-up position and fifth-place ranking.
Student James Daplyn picked up the Non-championship High Gun award, while the Two-Man Flush was collected by team-mates Tim Kneale and Dave Moore.
Tim Kneale, who competed in the Commonwealth Games, also collected the Prize in the Pool shoot.

“Everyone involved performed exceptionally well and they did both themselves, and the university college, proud.
